Small Business Spotlight: Lacuna Moon

Small Business Spotlight: Lacuna Moon

Time for a little change this month...

Small Business Spotlight is a new blog feature where I will be highlighting other small businesses that I know and love, so that you can find other complimentary products to my own ranges.

Journaling for Self Care

It's now June and with my Spring Collections finished and work starting on summer, I wanted to talk a little about how I use journaling for self care.

Journaling and planning is a big part of my life, and after many years of journaling, and even now making my own stationery and stickers, it's something I'll never get bored of.  Not only does it help promote self care, but also prevents burn out, which I am particularly sensitive too.

Lacuna Moon: Journaling for self-expression and mindfulness

I couldn't talk about journaling for self care without also introducing another small business, Lacuna Moon, where creativity meets self-care, owned and designed by artist and illustrator Nuala.

Lacuna Moon has a huge variety of stickers, sticker sheets, notebooks, bookmarks and other stationery, made from high quality materials.

Nuala is all about the power of self-expression and mindfulness through journaling.  She creates products that help transform ordinary journals into little bundles of personal growth, inspiration and reflection. Find our more about her here.

I have been using Lacuna Moon products for a long while, especially while planning out my main bullet journal, as they're perfect for the type of journaling I do and the aesthetic I go for.

I love to layer a lot in my spreads, using ephemera, washi tapes and stamps, which can become as creative as I like, but mostly what I enjoy about the process is the sitting down and spending time decorating my journals, as it is not only therapeutic but also fun.

Cosy Journaling Community

For the majority of my journaling I use a combination of bought and my own stickers and ephemera, but recently for my monthly spreads in my main bullet journal I've been using the majority of Nuala's new Patreon journal kits.

Depending on the membership you can get both digital and physical journal kits each month, as well as access to her Journal Society zoom calls and other behind the scenes content.

Nuala's cosy Patreon has helped me refocus my journaling practice and self care, as it's given me times throughout the month to plan and take myself away for an hour or two.

What I particularly love about the physical kits is the way they come packaged in little paper envelopes, that can be reused in my journal spreads and other projects.

Because I have some of the kit available on her Patreon digitally, I am also able to print off any previous kits or duplicate those in the kit that I fancy using more of.  Digital downloadable kits is something I'd definitely like to bring more of to my own shop here at KCR Stationery.

For June, I printed off one of her kits using my linen sticker paper, and it was stunning, and suited the regency aesthetic.

The Journal Society, a community driven online call hosted on Lacuna Moon Patreon by Nuala, has helped me refocus my journaling practice and self care, as it's given me times throughout the month to plan and take myself away for a while.

If you're looking for somewhere to learn or to just take time for yourself, then I highly recommend you check her out.
